Christmas in July

“Kindness is like snow, it beautifies everything it covers.”

-Kahlil Gibran

Now more than ever, we live in a world that needs more kindness, not only at Christmas time but throughout the year.

Many people wonder, can I help change the world for the better? Do I practice kindness and giving? How can I fit these things into my daily routine? As a mother with young children, Beth Dessen Duffy had these questions too.

Countdown to Christmas With Acts of Kindness:

A “New” North Pole Tradition is available in the Christmas Tree of Kindness App. Each ornament on a virtual or printed tree is added after completing a kind act. Select a 10, 15, 20 or 25 ornament tree with the goal of having it decorated with kind acts by December 25 or at any other time of the year.

The Christmas Tree of Kindness App includes 3 items:

1. APP ACTIVITY – Decorate your trees independently on iPhones and iPads or invite family/friends with a prepared message and passcode. Select a tree name, background theme and number of ornaments. Enter your own kind acts or choose from a list of suggestions. Receive notices when someone adds an ornament. When completed all will receive a star for the treetop and Christmas music!

2. STORY – Read about the first Christmas Tree of Kindness in “The Christmas Tree That Changed The World.” Learn how heroes Spruce and Holly overcome their doubts, make new friends and inspire everyone to decorate trees with kindness.

3. CRAFT ACTIVITY - Print two sheets and enjoy cutting out ornaments and adding them to a tree as each person completes a kind act. Include on the ornaments the name of the person that completed the kind act, descriptions of the kind acts and favorite craft materials.

The App will help you teach your kids kindness and inspire them to not be on Santa’s naughty list.

It’s a perfect tool for individuals and groups and at home, in a classroom or on the go.

And in the true spirit of kindness, a portion of all profits will be donated to World Vision.

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization helping children, families, and their communities overcome poverty and injustice.
