Dining Out in NYC During COVID-19

Tre Giovani is a gem of a restaurant known for its authentic Tuscan cuisine.

The first time I had dinner at this restaurant was in January 2020, pre-COVID-19. We were immediately taken with the amazing food, ambiance and great service and vowed to come back soon.

Now open for outside dining, we ventured to Tre Giovani for lunch on a hot July Sunday.

Tre Giovani is located on a quaint and quiet street with plenty of greenery, which allowed us to have a relaxing lunch while enjoying the great food and wine as well as the summer in the City. A little taste of Italy right here.

With a great wine list and an extensive menu ranging from pasta to meat and fresh fish dishes in addition to a few specials, the choice of what to eat at this restaurant can be difficult. We opted for an appetizer of grilled baby octopus with cherry tomatoes, asparagus, onions and olives followed by a filet mignon with a pepper sauce and fingerling potatoes as well as the pasta special prepared with shrimp, artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes. All three were excellent. We will have to come back for our other favorites soon. The staff even prepared a special dessert for us, an iced chocolate based on our instructions, which wasn’t on the menu. It’s the place to be if you are looking for a superb and relaxing dining experience.
